Today dd is supposed to go to an interactive play with my cancer support group but there's another snow storm going on again. In the last 24 hours we went from 60 degrees with rain and the snow melting to sleet to snow. Between 11 last night and noon today we're supposed to get either 7-15 or 10-15 inches depending on the weather man you listen to. The plows have yet to be out so I'm waiting to see it they cancel the play. I have a feeling this is going to be another home weekend. I finally broke down and bought a paper shredder earlier this week and will be going through old mail and other papers shredding them.

Tonight is dd's night to cook and the left overs aren't enough to feed the both of us.

don't know what is for dinner yet. something easy. rest of carrot soup needs to be thrown out. more laundry to do. the darks. the weekend plans rearrange basement for more room means dh has to get rest of leftover drywall out of it and the leftover vanity and mirror. didn't sell on craigslist. kids have schoolwork and game get together.

guys are actually working on the house next door. dvds to watch and crochet projects. always decluttering keeping up with the family. will see what comes up. working next 3 weekends so that is why I need to move furniture this weekend. they always say things don't fit there etc and they do so that is why. plus have to unload the bookcase to move it

We are going to dinner tonight at a restaurant. Also shopping. Money out today, not so much tomorrow. I am posting more on the Facebook group, unsure how long this forum will be up. I would rather not keep posting here if it will vanish soon.
Stretching by using food from home the rest of the weekend, saved $1 on milk by buying two, and keeping the heat lower overnight.

Happy Weekend to All. Mid 40's and sunny. Cold mornings in the 20's and highs in the 40's expected over the next 4 or 5 days.

Susan, that is awful about the damage from the frozen pipes. I pray things get remedied soon.

Keeping busy proofreading a document in Google docs for a family member. Only 50+ pages left. Slow going. My focus is on grammatical errors and the like. Others are focusing on the flow, continuity, etc.

Made a small amount of couscous to go along with the rest of the Moroccan stew. Made the brats for DH. He will have the rest of them tomorrow after church. I also made angel hair pasta for me for lunch tomorrow - heat and eat for both of us.

    Everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Tracy, Gary posted something on one of the end of the year threads that there were no immediate plans to close the forums, so you're ok posting here. 39 and overcast today. Went to the post office this morning. DH decided he wanted to get his fruit for next week, so went across the street to the grocery store, where he got fruit, yogurt and one frozen meal. On the way home topped off my gas tank, so about $22 out today. They started feeding the elk in the refuge last night, so stopped there and took a couple pictures for the people at work. This afternoon I head up to Jackson to spend the night since I have an early flight to Des Moines in the morning. I will be there all week. It will be much colder there than it is here. May have to go back in 2 weeks. So dinner out tonight. Won't be anything fancy. DH will likely eat something at home. I hope everyone has a great day. Jill

DH has slept most of the day from his meds. I am still moving around. But haven't had enough energy to do the dishes. We are just using leftovers when we want something to eat.
Will be below freezing again tonight.

I had DD and both of the grandbabies here all day. The guys were at her house ripping up carpet and painting the house. They are putting in wood floors tomorrow. Then we can help them finish putting the house together and get the garage straightened up. Dinner was bbq hotdogs, chili and pasta salad. They are working on her house again tomorrow so we are making breakfast and then cooking dinner for everyone tomorrow night. We will make pork burritos, beans and rice.

Yesterday we ended up getting 10 inches and the play did go on with dd and I in attendance. After the play we were treated to lunch. I took her with me grocery shopping then home. Thankfully she's past the age of whining very much for something she wants (I let her get 1 thing) but spent most of the shopping trip whining about the fact she wanted to go back home and relax. When we got home I made her go outside and finish shoveling the side yard (5 min job). When supper time rolled around she announced it was left overs then pointed to the doggie bags.

Today is going to be chores, church, meeting up with someone from freecycle to give them something, and home to pack away the 8 tiny reindeer and sleigh in my living room and pack away the last of my Christmas lights. We had a couple warm days last week so I took the display down.

Supper tonight is probably going to be soup

Yesterday was half a day of work and it was payday too. Ran to the bank to deposit my cheque, ran to the library to use their washroom and then onto the grocery store. By the time I got home it was 3pm. Ate lunch and then was on the computer for a bit. Had a dinner date with my 2 daughters and my grandson. Did not cost me anything as i used up gift cards for my meal and the tip and there was a bit extra but I didn't care. I had a coupon for $10 off the entire meal so we used that as well. grandson was tired by the end of the meal, we met at 6pm and left the restaurant at 8.20pm. . Eldest daughter Sam and grandson still had a 45 minute drive back home.

Today I am meeting my best friend and her sister for lunch. Leslie is the friend whose hubby just found out that he has a cancerous tumour on one of his kidneys. It will be an emotional meetup. She was not due back until end of March start of April. They go down to Arizona for 6 months during the winter months here. Depending on what happens after surgery, we don't know if they will be going back down again or what.
I bought a BBQ'ed chicken at the store so that will be dinner tonight and will also go in the stock pot for soup. They were on special and I could see why. Scrawny thing maybe 2lbs if that. Not a typical BBQ chicken that I normally buy from them. Raining again. At least it has warmed up a bit, not as frigid cold as it was. Have a great Sunday all. Sally.

hope everyone is feeling better and ok with the snow. foggy here all over. up early in bed late so will be in bed early. dh and I watched wind river and logan lucky from the libraries. first time in a long time kids didn't bug us well ds lol

don't feel like going out today but dvd needs to go back to library or a fine if I do it tomorrow so will see. kids have game playdate this afternoon. bought grapes for snack. talking about going free xmas light display tonight with mil. they can go without me. too sore to walk all around. or they can go to a movie. will see. haven't talked to mil lately. she hasn't been phoning as much so hopefully not inflection again and going more loopy. sil isn't communicating to us about mil so don't know what is happening. she created a problem with her lies so that is one reason haven't heard from her (can't blame us hates that) but mil has her wheelchair back so she can go out to xmas lights or where ever is too long to walk.

cats demanding head scratches while I type. watching the baker sisters and they are at bakery up here . may have to go visit....hard to find real baking anymore and they seem to have awesome stuff. caramel pecan cinnamon rolls..mmmm they use lots of butter etc too.

don't feel like it but rearrange basement today. dinner don't know . last night was help yourself so no leftovers so will see. after 9 so time to get kids out of bed

Hi everyone, My fun started last Thursday with my doctors appointment. He tells me to get up to the emergency room for the ulcer on my ankle. Two low sugar reactions and 7 hours later I had still not been seen by a doctor. I left at 12 a.m.. I mean really a 1/2 cup of apple juice only goes so far. My blood sugar was 50 and dropping. No one there seemed to be concerned and there was no sign of a doctor so I had to leave. I called my doctor in the morning and he was wasn't happy with them either. I got in with specialist with a regular appointment Friday. A of tests and the good news was I did not have to be hospitalized. The bad news was he had to dig out the infection and dead skin. So here I am with the foot still in the air. Heavy duty antibiotics now and a long recovery from what I understand. Weekly visits for some time. 4 and 1/2 weeks until vacation but it doesn't look like I will be able to enjoy the beaches or water there. I haven't told my doctor I am going yet and I hope it's on the mend by then.

Concerned about both of this. No doctor was seen so I wonder how I will get charged and how my insurance company will look at this. Secondly out of all the vacations we have taken this is the first trip that I have not taken travel insurance. I hope it was caught soon enough for me to go.

DH did the grocery planning and shopped for it today. He wouldn't tell me how much he spent which can not be good. But I knew that when he went. Not sure what he will be cooking this week but I saw a nice steak in the fridge for dinner tonight.

Another day of chaos here. DD and the grandkids are here again. They will be here all day while the guys are working on her house. I have a planned dinner of shredded pork tacos, rice and beans. Both crockpot are full of beans and pork. I will make the rice later. I am doing laundry today. I have one load to do.

OK been given the go ahead to announce to all friends and family that grandchild #2 is on the way. Samantha is expecting another happy event in July 2018. Hayden wants a baby sister but we have told him he has to have whatever is in Mummy's tummy. I was just told last night whilst at dinner with Katrina, Sam and Hayden. Sam bought tissues at the drugstore(chemist) before hand as she knew Trina and I would be bawling our eyes out and yes sure enough we cried. Happy tears though, tears of joy. Hoping all goes well in the next few months, we will all be on tender hooks awaiting the progress of the pregnancy. Over joyed at this lovely news.

mtviolet, yes last time she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 6months along. Hayden was going to be induced a month early so that she could have stronger chemo than what they were giving her. He was still over 8lbs at 8months, lord knows what he would have been if he had gone full term. However he came on his own terms 2 days before the inducement. She has gone through chemo, radiation, masectomy, reconstruction, tattooing of a new nipple (twice), a tummy tuck to use tissue from her stomach area to make a new boob. She has been through the mill in the last 5 years. So we are all praying everything goes OK this time around. There are no guarantees however and all we can do is pray and cross our fingers. Thank you all for the kind words on here and on Facebook. Sally.
