apparently dh said she thinks mil still is normal..yes the women who thinks people are climbing over her 9th floor balcony..always redoing the decor in her house...the cats and dogs the bugs, the old people the junkies...the kids playing is ok to be home alone.... granted mil tones it down for her but seriously ...in denial about it. dh wanted to see the place on the way home from dropping kids..he didn't realize it was the same place as the health center. they also have a daycare in there where the kids can socialize with the seniors doing crafts etc during certain times a... less

This has been a wild weekend for me with no home day though the kids are on break so I have a week off and plans for most of it.
Yesterday I dropped dd off to her bff's for a sleepover then went for a drive myself to think a few things over. Met up with a friend who treated me to supper. We got to talking and catching up till late hours so I slept over. While I was there they notice that my cellphone is old and broken. They loaned me one of their old ones till I can afford the new one I've got my eye on (after the bathroom is completed). Right now I'm trying to figure out how to work it.
When I got home this morning I started not just the laundry but finally packing away the winter stuff and breaking out the summer. DD will need to be picked up in a couple hours then supper will be decided. less

thanks magsuk....no unless she grows up a lot not going to be over until mil is gone and her estate settled. I think it is some toxic behaviour passed down in the family from great grandfather because all the first born cousin girls in dh side are dysfunctional until the younger generation after his. realized that last year. his sister was the favorite which did her no good. so he needs to get over that. always his family is better then mine.. parents repeat patterns they learn but always time to realize and break it. I did and tell the kids th... less

Went out with a girlfriend for dinner and a movie last night. We went to see "Finding Your Feet". It was an excellent movie, tears of laughter and tears of sadness but an excellent movie. We were at a small local cinema in my old hometown Sidney and the audience all clapped at the end. I think there were maybe 8 fellows in the audience the rest were all women. It will appeal to anybody over the end of 50, it was hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't go to the movies very often, not even once a year so to go and feel like you could go see it another few times, in my mind it was great.
Today is going to be get the scooter up and running and if I can use it to take empty bottles and cans back to the recycling depot. That will give it a good run and be the first ride of the year. Been too wet and cold to get out on it before now. Also if I have the energy tidy the patio off and sweep all the debris into a garbage bag and get it ready for sitting outside. I was up till ... less

I am going to watch the ballgame this afternoon and work on my embroidery. We will be in the 80's to 90's all week.
A number of years ago we featured a recurring segment called "That's Outrageous!". It was a collection of personal experience from readers where they felt that they weren't being treated fairly as consumers. We had a lot of fun with it and revealed some companies that needed to work on their custome...
Recently more and more people seem to be dealing with fear. I don't want to get into the causes (there are many and this isn't the forum for that) but I do want to take a minute to discuss the difference between facing facts and fear.
In the financial arena there are many facts that should ...
Hello to all my Frugal Friends!
One thing that search has done is to bring us a lot of choices when we're looking for information. That's good and bad. It's good that we have access to the information. It's bad that we can have a hard time separating the good information from things that are less v...
Seems like I do this all too often. The U.S. Federal government debt just topped $21 trillion. I know. That's such a big number that it's hard to put it into perspective. So try this.
Each U.S. citizen owes $64,260. Each taxpayer $173,548!
Or how about looking at it this way. The a...
