We Want Your Debt Success Story

  • Always something interesting in my inbox. Found a site created by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau dedicated to educating consumer about auto loans. "Whether you’re a first time borrower or a pro, getting an auto loan can be complicated. Learn how to prepare so you can save money, reduce stress, and get the auto loan that’s right for you." You'll find the site here. If you're shopping for an auto loan we recommend comparing rates on the Bankrate auto loan widget.

Speaking of debt (and it seems that's a frequent topic lately) an article by the Associated Press they point out that:  "Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell for the second straight month in May....The national debt is nearly $19.4 trillion and is expected to grow, which means the United States will need foreigners to keep buying Treasury securities." If they buy fewer government bonds interest rates will go up (regardless of what the Federal Reserve Board does). And that means it'll become more expensive for you and I to borrow money. That means now is a great time to pay off debts!

And, finally speaking of debt, we'd love to hear and share some of your stories about how you got out of debt. Either a specific debt or became completely debt free. I know that some of you did it on your own, while others used credit counseling, debt settlement or even bankruptcy.

I believe that it's important for us to know that someone has had a problem similar to the one I'm facing and found a way to overcome it. So your debt success story could help others overcome their debt challenge. If we share your story we'll send you a $25 Amazon gift card. Please send them by email to gary at stretcher.com and we'll include as many as we can in future issues and articles.
